The State Environment Committee tracks, analyzes and advocates CompTIA’s position on environmental legislation and regulations in each of the 50 states. The Committee's ultimate mission is to develop and implement CompTIA's state-level policy related to the environment, by maintaining a balance between the need for environmentally friendly rules and over-broad regulation.
The majority of the Committee's work involves taking positions on specific bills and regulations, which help guide CompTIA's State Government Affairs team of lobbyists who advocate on behalf of our membership in state capitols throughout the country. Key issues the Committee include electronic waste, green chemistry, substance restrictions, extended producer responsibility, energy efficiency, and other environmental issues impacting the technology industry.
