State Privacy Committee

The State Privacy Committee monitors all legislation within the online privacy sphere. From cybersecurity to internet based technology, the committee advocates on behalf of its members on these and other closely related issues.

The majority of the Committee's work involves taking positions on specific bills and regulations, which help guide CompTIA's State Government Affairs team of lobbyists who advocate on behalf of our membership in state capitols throughout the country. Primary issues of interest to the committee include cybersecurity, data protection, decedent accounts, identity assurance, the internet of things, communication services, and mobile phone protection.
